Frequently Asked Questions

WHAT ARE YOUR HOURS?

Our hours vary throughout the week, but please see the hours tab for more information.

IS THERE AN EVALUATION REQUIRED FOR MY DOG TO BE BOARDED?

If it is your dog’s first visit to Blowing Springs Kennel, we do require that you and your dog come by for a free visit so we can meet all of you. Due to our group recreation format, we require meeting the dogs prior to their stay. We also welcome clients to see and tour our facility so they trust their pets are in the best hands while they are away.

WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING FOR MY DOG?

The only thing that’s required is a current shot record. We can make a copy of it or your vet can email it to us. If you would like us to use your own food, feel free to bring it with you in a sealed container. If not, we will feed our food (at no extra charge). Each kennel has a raised Kuranda bed for your dog’s comfort, but feel free to bring any pillows or blankets for their additional comfort. We want them to feel at home with us!

IS IT REALLY A “NO BARK” ENVIRONMENT?

Yes! It’s actually more of a “bark-less” environment. There is no other facility that is as clean and as quiet as Blowing Springs Kennel. We are proof that “calm breeds calm” when it comes to boarding dogs. The most common question asked once someone visits is, “Are there really dogs in there?” Come by and see (or hear) for yourself!

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO TRAIN A DOG?

This is totally dependent on several factors. The first is age of the dog, but more specifically the amount of bad habits the dog has. The second factor is what it is you want the dog to do. There are a couple of “sure things” when it comes to this question. During your dog’s stay at Blowing Springs Kennel, they will be better tomorrow than they are today. The other sure thing is that we will never tell you how long your dog needs to stay with us. That is totally up to you. We charge for the days your dog is at the facility training with us.  Further, if you leave your dog with us and in the first week we feel your dog is not making progress, we will contact you to discuss your options.

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE COST OF TRAINING?

Essentially all required needs are provided while here training: boarding, food, administering any medications, and supervised recreation time. This also includes the training sessions for owners. This is the single most important part of our training, knowing how to handle your dog and maintain the practices they’ve learned requires everyone’s effort.
